Kethi To Appear In Court

In her petition filed Monday, Kethi claims that the prosecution failed to supply her with relevant documents, to enable her prepare for her case against the IEBC.

Kethi is accused of forging her voter’s card, handling stolen goods and altering false documents.

This was after an IEBC Tribunal delivered a ruling that barred Kethi from vying for Makueni Senate on grounds that she was not a registered voter.

Kethi was disqualified from succeeding her late father Mutula Kilonzo who died in April last year.

A 3-judge bench comprising Richard Mwongo, Mumbi Ngugi and Weldon Korir later on upheld the ruling by IEBC Tribunal.

The CID Department was also tasked with the primary responsibility of establishing exactly how Kethi obtained her registration as a voter

Kethi was charged alongside IEBC official Godfrey Lemiso who was charged with neglecting official duty.

Kethi’s registration as a voter was contested by TNA Party and 3 voters from Makueni.

IEBC’s Dispute Resolution Tribunal revoked Kethi’s nomination as the Wiper candidate for the Makueni Senate by election over her “illegal” registration.

The Makueni Senate seat was later won by her brother Mutula Kilonzo Junior on a Wiper ticket.
