Khalwale urges courts not to protect corrupt people

Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has urged the Judiciary not to be used by corrupt cartels to protect corrupt individuals.

Khalwale has criticised the High Court for issuing an order barring him from talking about corruption at Mumias Sugar Company until the case filed against him by Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is heard and determined on the 15th of this month.

Speaking during the funeral service of a lawyer, Audrey Omutiko,  at Maturu in Lugari Sub-County, Kakamega County, Khalwale insisted that he will not  apologize to Kidero  over his comments linking him to the downfall of Mumias Sugar Company during his tenure as the managing director.

This comes after Kidero made good his threat to sue Khalwale for defamation early last week over his remarks at a public rally in Mumias where he called him a corrupt white-collar thief.

The court allowed Kidero’s plea to restrain Khalwale or his agents from further using defamatory words on him pending hearing and determination of the matter.
