Kiambu County Assembly Sittings Adjourned

The sittings were adjourned in accordance with the county assembly’s standing orders which say that business cannot proceed without the Speaker in office.

The adjournment comes a day after the Kiambu County Assembly impeached its Speaker Nick Ndichu

Ndichu was ousted by members of the assembly over allegations of arrogance and misuse of office

Addressing the Media today, Deputy Speaker Anthony Macharia said no serious business can be transacted when the Speaker is not in office

The Deputy Speaker further announced that the assembly will place an advert in the local daillies tomorrow, Thursday announcing vacancy in the position.

He asked members of the public interested in the position of Speaker to apply for it.

Ndichu becomes the first Speaker to be impeached under the new constitution.
