Kiambu County says committed to quality healthcare

The Director for Health in Kiambu County Stephen Njuguna has reiterated the county’s commitment to offer first-class specialized medicare to all residents.

Dr. Njuguna noted that the frequent health staff strikes on matters related to pay disputes and promotions have been harmonized adding that starting end of December, the 2,344 staff operating in 116 medical facilities will enjoy their benefits.

He said the County Government of Kiambu is committed to ensure timely disbursement of their salaries to avert any misunderstanding on the delays that may jeopardize the health achievements for the last three years.

He said that Thika Level Five Hospital, which conducts 30 deliveries per day, is poised for greater heights through collaboration and partnership with the private sector to improve its capacity and expand its infrastructure.

On availability of drugs, Dr. Njuguna said the county has stocked enough essential basic drugs across all the facilities adding that specialized drugs and for non-communicable diseases are also available in Kiambu, Thika, Gatundu and Tigoni hospitals.
