Kiambu MCA Eliud Ngugi dies of COVID-19

Eliud Ngugi Ngige, who was the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Muguga Ward in Kiambu County, succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday evening.

The MCA, who was popularly referred to as ‘Thitia’, passed on a day after he was admitted to the ICU at the Kenyatta University hospital.

According to Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu, the MCA returned from an official trip to Mombasa on Sunday where he and his colleagues of the County Assembly Budget Committee had retreated.

He was taken ill on Monday and admitted to the Kenyatta University hospital after testing positive to COVID-19. He died Monday at around 8pm.

Jubilee Party Secretary General has expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the late county legislator.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing on of Hon. Eliud Ngugi Ngige, the MCA for Muguga Ward in Kiambu County. Hon. Ngige, popularly referred to as ‘Thitia’ by his constituents, will be remembered as a jovial and dedicated leader of the people.

“On behalf of the Jubilee Party family, I take this opportunity to pass my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, Muguga Ward and the Kiambu County Assembly,” said Tuju in a statement.
