Kibabii University closed indefinitely

Kibabii University in Bungoma County has been closed indefinitely.

This follows riots by students who accused the administration of posting exam results on the notice board instead of sending to their web portals.

The students began the protests by throwing stones on the institution’s building while carrying placards.

One student who spoke to Citizen Digital on condition of anonymity said the reason for the strike was the lack of chairs in lecture halls and a delay in the posting of exam results.

“They said they would post the results within seven days but they didn’t. They have portal but it is not effective,” said the student.

“The relationship between the administration and students is also very bad,” he added.

The students packed belongings and started leaving the compound after administration of the higher learning institution headed by Vice Chancellor Ipara Odeo posted the closure order on the notice board.
