Kibaki Urges Leaders To Work Together
The former head of state has urged the leaders to unite Kenyans and avoid divisive politics so as to serve the citizens equally and effectively.
Speaking during the commissioning of Lerujat water borehole at Ole Tinga area in Kajiado County, Kibaki asked the leaders to have political discourse that will help them find ways of alleviating the living standards for all Kenyans.
Kibaki also urged Kenyans to be more creative in utilizing the available resources in order to maximally tap their benefits.
“Kenya is a land of both opportunity and abundance. The challenge, however, is in finding ways of persuading our people to become actively involved in the exploitation of these resources and converting them into wealth,” the retired President said.
Donors of the project, ‘Water for All’, have been on the forefront in campaign to ensure Kenyans have access to quality and safe water.
Local communities in Maasai land have been among the beneficiaries of the project that has gone a long way in transforming their lives.
Kajiado West MP Moses Ole Sakuda who was present in the function recognized various development projects the former President initiated while in power and urged political leaders to emulate him.
