Kibra MP Ken Okoth leaves behind a legacy at Mbagathi High School

The late Kibra MP Ken Okoth had one strong passion that was evident to all who knew him: improving education standards for his constituents.

This saw him engage in construction projects, upgrades and almost all school events he was invited to.

Among the most notable is Mbagathi High School in Nairobi.

It was built from scratch using Constituency Development Funds (CDF) from Kibra.

The project elicited praise from across the country with many lauding the MP for his self-drive and outstanding commitment.

Okoth represented Kibra constituents, most of whom live in abject poverty, unable to afford a decent life.

He made sure that bursaries from CDF reached beneficiaries even when he was away in France for treatment.

The Kibra legislator used Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi to deliver the cheques.

He assured his constituents that no child would miss school on account of his absence.

Okoth has been lauded by many as one most progressive MPs in the current Kenyan Parliament.

The 41-year-old died on Friday after a long battle with colorectal cancer.
