Kibra residents counting losses after fire razes over 50 houses
Residents of Mashimoni area in Kibra are counting huge losses after their houses were early Tuesday morning razed by a fierce fire.
Witnesses told Citizen Digital that at least 50 houses went up in flames during the 7am incident that left victims homeless.
Preliminary reports show that a candle left burning in one of the houses caused the incident.
No casualties were however reported as local administrators continue to probe the incident.
The fire was later put out by Nairobi fire brigade jointly with a team from the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
Locals who were affected are now trying to come to terms with their fate and are pleading for humanitarian support from well-wishers.
