Kikuyu residents raise alarm over rape gang that targets grannies
Residents of Rusengetii area on Kikuyu Sub County in Kimabu County have raised alarm about a gang of men that has been targeting and raping old women living in mud houses over the past two weeks.
Speaking to citizen Digital, the victims told Citizen Digital that the gang of six pours soil on the roofs of the grannies’ houses, making them believe it is raining before gaining access to their houses where they commit the heinous crime.

One of the victims told Citizen Digital that the members of the gang dug into her bedroom near her bed on one occasion but she scared them away by knocking the edge of her bed using a stick.
The victims are now calling on the government to provide security and help in catching the culprits so as to curb the crime.
Area Member of County Assembly (MCA) David Waihumbu advised families in the area to ensure their mothers are safe and asked well-wishers to build proper houses for the grannies.
He added that police have launched a manhunt for the culprits.
