Speaking to journalists at his office, the Inspector General said that more police officers have been deployed in the area after the Saturday morning deadly attack which is believed to have been caried out by suspected Al Shabab militia.
At the same time Kimaiyo has extended the Lamu curfew for one month to the 24th of December.
Kimaiyo says this is due to the unstable state of security in the coastal town.
