Kindiki tells off Jubilee Governors opposing gov’t

A section of Jubilee leaders have hit out at the coalition’s governors who have been sabotaging activities of the national government and undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership.

Led by Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki, the leaders said that some Governors and MPs allied to the Jubilee coalition have undermined the leadership of the Jubilee government and opposing development projects by the national government.

Kindiki said that unlike CORD Governors who are very loyal to their leaders, the Jubilee Governors have turned out to rebel against the coalition that sponsored them to their respective positions during the 2013 elections.

The Tharaka Nithi Senator said it is time the Jubilee Governors make their stand known on whether they are still in the ruling coalition or the opposition, adding that the Governors have engaged in fights with the government day-in-day-out.

He called on the Governors to stop fighting the President and instead cooperate with him in improving the lives of Kenyans and achieving the development agenda of the government.

Kindiki also lashed out at Embu Governor Martin Wambora over his continued fight with the government over tarmacking of Embu-Kibugu Road which has created divisions between national leaders and the county government leaders.

He said its disrespectful for the Governor to oppose a national government project which Jubilee pledged to Kenyans, saying all leaders should work together to foster development in the country.

Kindiki was accompanied by Runyejes MP Cecily Mbarire, her Manyatta counterpart John Muchiri and Mbeere North’s Muriuki Njagagua.
