Kirinyaga: Probe starts after body found dumped in a sack

Police officers in Kirinyaga are probing an incident in which the body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a sack near the bank of river Nyamindi. 

According to the area residents led by Dunson Murango the body was found by women who had gone to collect some firewood. 

They then raised alarm, attracting the attention of locals who hailed the police.

Detectives from Wang’uru police station who responded to the report said they are treating the matter as a murder. 

“We are appealing to residents with any information on the incident  to come forward,” Mwea-East Sub-county police commander Daniel Kitavi said

Residents living along  Nyamindi river and the surrounding areas are worried over the increased cases of bodies dumped in the river. 

“This is worrying us now, even body of Somali-American Businessman Bashir Mohammed was found here,” another resident told Citizen Digital.
