Kirinyaga deputy governor cries foul over withdrawal of official vehicle
Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Julius Njiri has accused Governor Joseph Ndathi for taking away his official vehicle for unknown reasons, yet his term is not yet over.
The deputy governor said the vehicle was taken for service in February last year (2016) and he has not accessed it since then, until two weeks ago when he spotted the car in the parking area before it was driven be people unknown to him.
He cautioned Kirinyaga residents not to stop the vehicle if the say it around town because neither he nor his driver is operating it.
The deputy governor has been involved in a tussle with Governor Ndathi after he accused him of refusing to assign him duties in an alleged plot to weaken him politically ahead of the General Election.
In his defence, the governor denied the accusations saying that he (Njiri) coordinates security matters in the county and attends his cabinet meetings when development matters are discussed.
