Kirinyaga parents protest after pupils injured in accident

Parents of Kutus Primary School in Kirinyaga County on Thursday, March 2 took to the streets to demonstrate over the increased road accidents near the school.

Angry parents matched on the road after two pupils were admitted at a private hospital following a road accident involving a boda boda on Wednesday just outside the school’s gate.

Kutus police officers tried to control the raging parents after they blocked the road that serves the Governor’s offices and the regional morgue.

Zablon Muriithi, a parent, said that the school committee members had written to the relevant authorities requesting erection of bumps on the road to reduce tragedies.
