Kirinyaga: Police officer arrested for assaulting three people in bar fight

A police officer in Kirinyaga County has been arrested for allegedly assaulting three people at a local bar in Kiamutugu Trading Centre, Gichugu Sub-county.

Gichugu OCPD Anthony Mbogo said the officer; corporal Gilbert Andika, caused a commotion at the bar after insisting he be served free alcohol.

He then went ahead to assault three levellers who sustained broken limbs among other injuries and were taken to a nearby private hospital.

The three have since been treated and discharged.

The officer was detained at Kianyaga Police Station pending arraignment on Monday.
