Kirinyaga: Two preachers killed in grisly crash

Two preachers were on Sunday evening killed in a grisly crash involving a motorbike and a private car near Kiangwaci trading centre in Ndia, Kirinyaga County.

According to Peterson Kariuki, the head of Apostolic churches in Kirinyaga, Peter Muriithi (a Manyatta-based pastor) and Josphat Wahome (a pastor from Kagio) were headed home on a motorbike after a successful Sunday service.

‘ We have lost a very faithful people who preached about coronavirus the whole of yesterday,” Kariuki said

An eyewitness said the speeding private car that was headed to Sagana attempted to overtake on a tight stretch, striking the bike.

Ndia sub-county Police Commander Joseph Mwika confirmed the incident, saying said the driver of the private car had been arrested and was being held at the Baricho police station.

The vehicle and motorbike were towed to Sagana police station while bodies of the deceased were removed to the Karatina Hospital Mortuary
