Kirinyaga woman in hospital after husband mutilates her private parts

A 29-year-old woman from Kirinyaga County is nursing serious injuries after her husband used a knife to cut her private parts.

Monica Mumbi was rushed to the Kimbimbi Sub-County Hospital after the incident on Wednesday night.

“It was at night when he attacked me with a knife and cut me,” she said.

The couple that lives in Kianugu village in Mwea have been married for only eight months.

Dr. Allan Kuyu who is treating the victim narrated how Mumbi was brought to the hospital in a horrific state but they managed to stabilize her.

“Her private parts were bleeding and she had already lost a lot of blood,” he said.

Naftali Murimi, one of the couple’s neigbours said he heard them fighting on the fateful night.

“She had bruises all over her body,” he told Citizen Digital.

Reports indicate that police in Kirinyaga have launched a manhunt for the husband who disappeared after mutilating the wife.
