Kirinyaga woman stabs another to death in fight over man

A middle-aged woman died on Tuesday morning after she was stabbed to death by another woman at Ngomongo Village in Kirinyaga Central constituency of Kirinyaga County during a fight over a man.

According to a village elder, Joseph Ngare, the fight started after the man’s girlfriend got jealous when he bought the deceased a beer.

The jealous woman rushed to her house that was about 100 metres away, picked a kitchen knife and stabbed her, killing her on the spot.

Police from Kerugoya Police Station had a hard time trying to save the woman from irate villagers who were baying for her blood.

The couple is now held at Kerugoya Police Station while the body of the deceased was taken to Embu mortuary.
