Kisii: 15 students arrested after torching woman’s house

Fifteen students of a school in Marani, Kisii County were on Monday arrested for allegedly torching a house belonging to a woman they accused of being a witch.

Kisii County Police Commander Abdi Hassan said the boys stormed the woman’s house on Sunday night claiming that she had caused the death of a Form Four student from their school.

According to the police boss, the woman is reported to be a sister-in-law to the deceased, who died mysteriously.

The County Commander added that investigations are on to establish the cause of the boy’s death.

He further stated that the woman had been arrested for interrogation after police recovered some paraphernalia from the torched house.

The police boss said the woman will be arraigned in court if found to have been involved in the boy’s death.
