Kisii residents urged to fight drug, substance abuse
Leaders and residents of Kisii county have been urged to join NACADA in the fight against drug abuse and illicit brew in the area.
This was during a forum held at the Kisii University College with an aim of sensitizing the community against drug and substance abuse.
During the three day forum, NACADA chairman in the region, Fr. Lawrence Nyanga condemned the court systems in the area for releasing illicit brewers at a small fee compared to the nature of the crime they commit.
Fr. Nyaaga further noted that local chief’s are also to blame for not taking action despite knowing the individuals involved in the illegal activites in their areas of administration.
Kisii has been one of the most affected areas by drug and substance abuse especially by the youth.
