Kisumu: 7 students in hospital after bizarre attack in dormitory

Seven students from St Teresa’s Girls secondary school in Kibuye, Kisumu were admitted to hospital following a bizarre incident.

On Sunday night, a Form One student reportedly claimed to have been possessed with evil spirits.

A parent who spoke to Ramogi Radio, said there was commotion after some students attempted to pray for him.

In a strange twist, the incident turned violent leaving 13 students seriously injured.

They were rushed to Howic hospital in Nyalenda even as parents criticised the school for not informing them about what had happened.

Hospital Clinician Caren Auma confirmed that she received the students at the facility on Sunday night some of whom had soft tissues injuries.

Six have been discharged after they received treatment while 7 are still hospitalised though in stable condition.

Kisumu Central Sub county Director of Education Charles Ang’iela said the matter is under investigation.

He further revealed that the Form One student was picked up by the parents for observation.
