Kisumu: Brothers arrested after allegedly killing man in land row

Police in Kisumu West sub-county are holding two brothers after they allegedly attacked and killed a man in a land row in Newa village.

Kisumu County Police Commander Samuel Anampiu said the two suspects – Caleb Ogalo, 26, and Festus Ogalo, 18, – went to the farm where the deceased was clearing bushes and an argument ensued.

He said the duo snatched the panga the man was using to clear bushes and cut him severely.

The man later passed on at the Miranga sub-county hospital where he had been taken for emergency treatment.

The police boss added that the duo also attacked the deceased’s wife who was also at the farm and slashed her fingers then hit her with a jembe but she survived.

Anampiu further stated that the two will be arraigned and charged in court.

The body of the deceased has since been taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
