ODM’s Kisumu Central repeat polls marked by low voter turnout

A spot check by Citizen Digital Tuesday morning revealed that voter turnout in Manyatta,Kisumu Sports Ground, Kosawo Primary and  Kondele polling stations was very low in the repeat poll.

Kisumu Central returning officer Mc Oremo Odoyo said that electoral materials were dispatched to polling stations in good time, adding that they hoped that the exercise would be successful.

ODM’s National Elections board had ordered for a repeat of the polls – this in keeping with a decree issued by the High Court.

Former TNA Secretary General, Onyango Oloo had filed a suit at the High Court arguing that the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal erred in law when it dismissed his case challenging the nomination of Fred Odhiambo over cases of irregularities.

He  further claimed that the nomination exercise was marred with irregularities and moved to the High Court after the Tribunal dismissed his case.

Once ODM announces the winner of the repeat poll, they will present the names to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
