Kisumu County Finance, Tourism ministers face impeachment

Kisumu Members of County Assembly on Thursday tabled two notices of motion to impeach county Finance CEC Nerry Achar and his Tourism counterpart Archie Alai.

Kolwa East MCA Stephen Owiti moved the motion to impeach Achar while his Kajulu counterpart moved the one to remove Alai from her docket.

Samo says MCAs are not contented with how the two CECs have been running their dockets.

Samo says the finance docket is dogged with billions of pending bills for contractors adding that the CEC has also mishandled the current 2019/2020 budget which is yet to be passed.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi after the assembly session on Thursday, Samo said the duo will have seven days to defend themselves before the motions are tabled in the assembly.

He said they will present before the assembly detailed reasons why they want the duo out of office.
