Kisumu: Decomposing body of 18-year old girl found in boyfriend’s house

Police in Kisumu are probing the mysterious death of an 18 year-old girl whose decomposing body was on Tuesday discovered inside her boyfriend’s house in Kolwa Central.

Confirming the incident, Central Kolwa Chief Elijah Otieno Omumbo said they suspect the Form Three student at Nyalunya Mixed Secondary School was killed by her boyfriend who is also in the same class and school as her.

He stated that the suspect is currently admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) after he reportedly tried to commit suicide following the incident.

The area administrator added that curious neighbours reported to the village elder about a weird smell and flies coming from the suspect’s rental house.

The police were then informed and they broke into the house where the decomposing body of the girl was found covered with a mattress.

Speaking to Ramogi, Chief Omwombo revealed that there were visible blood stains on the floor.

The deceased’s body was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
