Kisumu: Four-year-old girl allegedly defiled in school
Police in Kisumu are investigating an incident where a four-year-old girl was allegedly defiled in school.
According to police, the girl’s mother reported that her daughter, who is in middle class, complained of pain when she was preparing to bathe her upon her return from school.
Upon checking on her, the woman says she noticed some fluids on her daughter’s private parts.
The mother says her daughter narrated to her what transpired while in the school located within a church along the Kisumu-Nairobi road.
The girl disclosed that the suspect threatened her not to mention what had happened.
She was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral hospital, where she was treated and discharged the following day, with the medical report showing that the girl was indeed defiled.
The parent in the company of a police officer manning the gender-based violence desk at the Kisumu Central Police Station went to the school to seek for answers from the school management.
However, according to the mother, the management appeared adamant to take action.
On Thursday the school’s management was holed up in a meeting with the parents of the child but later declined to speak to the press.
