Kisumu: Man arrested for assaulting son after failing to submit report form

Police in Kisumu are holding a man who seriously injured his son over claims that he failed to hand over his report form following school closure.

The suspect, Hezekiah Obusebe, was arrested within the Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) in Kisumu after neighbours alerted the police.

The Class Six pupil had injures inflicted on his body, especially on the back, by the father.

The father, who has since been booked at the Kisumu Central Police Station, said he was only disciplining the son and was not out to hurt him.

OCS Boniface Mutie confirmed the arrest saying the child will be taken to the hospital for treatment and to get a P3 form.

Mutie added that the suspect would be arraigned in court once police are through with investigations.

According to neighbours, the man used a pipe to hit the child. They added that the man divorced his wife a while back and has been living with the son in their rented house.
