Kisumu man arrested in possession of police uniform

Police in Kisumu are holding a middle aged man who was found in possession of police jungle uniform at Obunga slums in Kisumu Central Sub County.

Acting Kanyakwar Chief Maurice Ojwang Nyanga said the suspect identified as Mohammed Juma was also found in possession of several assorted school uniforms.

Chief Ojwang said they got information from community policing officials in Obunga that he had been spotted sleeping at a nearby shop.

They swung into action and found the suspect visibly drunk and was arrested.

Speaking to Ramogi on phone, the chief said that they suspected Juma and other accomplices to have raided some shops in Kisumu’s CBD where they stole the school uniforms.

He added that the suspect is being held at Obunga police post for interrogation to reveal his accomplices.They suspect he has been using the police uniforms to terrorize unsuspecting locals.
