Kisumu MCAs Fight, Injure Deputy Speaker
The chaos started when the deputy speaker Pamela Omino Josi insisted on chairing the session as the acting speaker, saying that she was the right person to run that assembly after the impeachment of former speaker Anne Atieno Adul.
Josi thwarted the assembly’s operations for hours threatening not to allow the presiding speaker Gabriel Ochieng’ and any other persons from presiding over the day’s session.
FORCEFUL DELIBERATION
The scenario worsened when a section of MCAs entered into a verbal altercation as they differed over Omino’s stand.
Things turned ugly when the deputy speaker tried to forcefully deliberate on the day’s sessions before she was muscled out by the MCAs.
The struggle persisted for hours forcing the intervention of civilians who were out to rescue the deputy speaker from the melee.
She was later rushed to hospital for first aid as the assembly’s session was adjourned.
