Kisumu: Teacher accused of defiling 4 school girls remanded for 7 days

A deputy head teacher accused of defiling four school-going girls was on Tuesday arraigned before a Kisumu court and remanded for one week pending investigations.

Appearing before Ahero Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo, the accused – Dan Odhiambo Osok – was detained until July 8, 2019, when he is expected to take plea.

The prosecution asked the court for more time to investigate the allegations, adding that the accused may interfere with the case since he comes from the same locality as the alleged rape victims.

The prosecution further stated that the accused’s life was in danger since area residents were baying for his blood following the accusations levelled against him.

Mr. Odhiambo, who is the deputy head teacher of Arombo Primary School, was arrested Monday evening after allegedly defiling the minors.
