Kiunjuri: We shall not dissolve parties to join UDA

That UDA  party is already running into headwinds in Central Kenya cannot be gainsaid. 

A caucus pushing for unity of the region led by the Service Party Leader, the  former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri is adamant no party in Central Kenya will fold to back the uda party

“Hakuna chama chochote tutavunja,” Kiunjuri said on Saturday. 

 A  caucus that begun with three party leaders from the mountain region now say it is expanding to rope in more parties from Central Kenya. 

A subsequent meeting has been planned for Tuesday next week in Thika for unity talks with more parties and party leaders to be brought on board.

 The leaders pushing for the adoption of a common position but within their respective parties. the vote rich central kenya region said to be the 2022 battleground for presidential aspirants 

“Vyama hatutavunja lakini kura tutawapatia kwa heshima sio kwa kulazimishwa,”  Kiunjuri added. 

In Nairobi, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru claimed the divisions within Central Kenya notwithstanding, the mountain region will back the best presidential candidate and will not end up in the opposition. 

Deputy President William Ruto has made several forays in the region with opposition chief Raila Odinga following suit.

This as DP Ruto allies claim they were chased out of the jubilee party to create room for the former NASA affiliates.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said their ejection was a grand scheme to create a super alliance against the Deputy President’s run for the presidency

“We have told them if they want to unite they should unite immediately. Our team is ready to vote for Ruto,” Murkomen said.
