Klopp pleased with victory over United

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised his team’s performance and felt they ‘absolutely deserved’ their win as they sealed a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in their UEFA Europa League last-16 first leg tie on Thursday at Anfield.

Klopp believed Liverpool controlled the game throughout and feels they could have scored more goals if it wasn’t for goalkeeper David De Gea.

Goals from Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino secured victory for the Merseyside club and Klopp claimed it was a ‘perfect result.’

The German also paid tribute to the atmosphere at Anfield, labelling it as ‘unbelievable’, admitting it was how he knew Liverpool before he arrived as manager earlier this season.
