KNUT Threatens To Call For Teachers Strike

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has threatened that they will call for a nationwide strike if the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) fails to resolve the North Eastern teachers row.

Sossion asked teachers that would be deployed in Wajir, Mandera and Garissa counties by TSC to demand for their security before reporting to work stations.

The TSC recruitment of new teachers in North Eastern is coming to an end on Monday after the over 1,000 teachers from the region refused to report to their stations over fears of insecurity.
