KNUTs Mudzo Nzili sent on terminal leave, Omucheyi takes over

Kenya National Union of Teachers Chairman Mudzo Nzili has been sent on a six month terminal leave pending retirement in May next year.

KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion says Wycliffe Etole has been appointed the acting Chairman of the teachers union pending a by election during the union’s upcoming Annual Delegates Conference.

In a statement, Sossion says all KNUT leaders including branch officials should automatically seize holding office after attaining the age of 60 years.

Nzili and Sossion have been deemed to be at loggerheads since the last general election after Sossion was nominated to parliament by ODM while Nzili backed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
