Korogocho Killer Mum in Court

Catherine Muthoni, the Korogocho woman suspected of killing her child, on Monday appeared before Principal Magistrate Eunice Nyotu at Makadara Law Courts three days after the court ordered for a medical check up to determine her mental status before taking a  plea.

The prosecution told the court that Mathare Mental Hospital was unable to immediatley determine the accused's mental status hence requested for a month to conduct thorough check up.

The court approved the request by the prosecution and directed that the case be mentioned on 23rd March 2015 to assess the hospital report on whether Ms Muthoni is fit to take a plea.

It is alleged that the suspect killed her baby and ate its heart before killing two of her neighbour's children.
