KPCU Board Stalemate

Staying on the agriculture sector front, a row is brewing at the Kenya planters cooperative union (KPCU) following the move by the Commissioner of Co-Operatives, Patrick Musyimi to elect new board members at KPCU.

KPCU Chairman William Gatei has now asked the government to remove the commissioner from office, saying he is interfering with the operations of KPCU.

This has emerged barely a week after the shareholders of KPCU held an annual general meeting in which they held elections to choose their board of directors.
