KRA seizes container concealing luxury vehicles

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officials on Tuesday evening seized a container suspected to be concealing two luxury vehicles at the port of Mombasa in an attempt to evade taxes amounting to over Ksh4 million.

Speaking to journalists at the port, KRA Deputy Commissioner Southern Region Nicholas Kinoti confirmed that the two Mercedes Benz cars were imported from Dubai and were on transit to Mbale in Uganda.

Kinoti further indicated that the container which arrived at the port on 27^th of September 2016 was declared to be loaded with assorted humanitarian and hospital donations.

The KRA deputy commissioner also said that once investigations are completed the suspects will be arrested and taken to court.
