Ksh 6 Million for Beyond Zero Campaign

Ksh 6 Million for Beyond Zero Campaign

East African Affairs, Commerce and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Phillis Kandie, who led a group of well-wishers in contributing funds to boost the ‘Beyond Zero’ campaign, said the First Lady’s efforts have taken health services closer to Kenyans – especially women and children.

The CS presented a cheque of Ksh 6,022,024 to the First Lady at State House, Nairobi.

“What you are doing for mothers and children of this country is extremely wonderful. It is a great sacrifice deep from your heart,” CS Kandie told the First Lady.

The well-wishers – who included representatives of James Finlay Company, Unilever, Kenya Obstetrical Gynaecological Society (KOGS) and Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN) – expressed gratitude to the First Lady and commended her for the sacrifices she is making to galvanise Kenyans for a noble cause.

They said the First Lady’s humanitarian initiatives will forever be engrained in the minds and hearts of Kenyans.

KENGEN through its Managing Director Albert Mugo and Chairman Joshua Choge donated Ksh 4 million while KOGS through its Chairman Dr. Stephen Ochiel gave a cheque of Ksh 1 million.

James Finlay Managing Director Simeon Hutchinson gave a cheque of Ksh 500,000 and Unilever Company through its project manager gave a cheque of Kshs 500,000.

The First Lady thanked the well-wishers for their donations, saying so far she has delivered 26 Mobile clinics to various counties in the country.

She said after delivering mobile clinics to all the 47 counties, there will still be much to be done to ensure access to better health services for all Kenyans.

“What is happening on the ground is truly amazing. Am sure we will do more once we deliver the mobile clinics to all 47 counties,” said the First Lady.

The First Lady, who handed over the 26th Mobile Clinic to Kericho County on Wednesday this week, said she will soon be travelling to Bungoma County to deliver the 27th fully kitted mobile clinic.
