KU student commits suicide in Molo

A middle-aged man has committed suicide by hanging himself in Michatha Village of Molo, Nakuru County.

Simon Njung’e, who was a fourth year IT student at the Kenyatta University, hung himself inside his house but the reason for his action is still unknown.

Confirming the incident, area chief Jackson Njoroge said Mr Njunge gained access to the house through the window where he hang himself with a rope.

One of the residents, Ms Rosalinde Wamaitha, described the deceased as hardworking.

Relatives of the deceased said that he had reformed since quitting alcohol adding that he had threatened to commit suicide several times in the past.

Police arrived at the scene and moved his body to Molo Sub County Mortuary.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Turi Ward MCA Michael Wang’ombe called on the youth to share their problems with loved ones to avoid such occurrences.
