KUPPET To Issue Strike Notice Today
KUPPET chairman Omboko Milemba says the union will issue the strike notice after the union's National Governing Council approves it during a meeting at Railways Club, Nairobi.
Milemba says their demands include a 200 percent pay rise and the rejection of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission proposal to remove some of the allowances being received by teachers.
The Teachers Service Commission has however dismissed repoorts that some of the allowances for teachers will be removed
This was contained in a statement released yesterday and signed by CEO Gabriel Lengoiboni which urged KNUT to withdraw their strike notice and come to a negotiating table
The TSC has offered teachers a new proposal to be discussed during a meeting slated for 3rd January 2015
