Kuria Restrained From Making Incitement Remarks

The court order has restrained the MP from commenting on the attack whether verbally, in public or on social media platforms.

Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Enock Cherono issued the order in a case filed by prosecutor Nicodemus Maingi following Kuria's recent post on Twitter under the hash tag 'kill your own.'

It is alleged the MP posted an inciting comment on twitter on November 24th in connection with the Mandera massacre where 28 people were killed by Al Shabab militants

The legislator had appeared before court for mention of the case over the post.

The case will come up again for mention on the 15th January 2015.

Kuria’s charges come a day after the National Cohesion and Integration Commission Chairman Francis ole Kaparo warned politicians against making statements that might divide Kenyans along religious or tribal lines.

Kaparo urged politicians to promote unity in the country.
