KUSSTO Issues Strike Notice

The union says that the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) failed to turn-up at a meeting they had called to discuss the demands of tea growers including a rise in monthly payment bonus and mini-bonus.

KUSSTO national secretary general George Kinyua said the strike will be led by all the KUSSTO leaders.

He added that farmers would only return to tea picking after KTDA discusses their issues.

Kinyua said the union will hold peaceful demonstrations and close all the factories and ensure no farmer is picking tea.
