Kwale school closed after attempted arson
Msambweni Boys High School in Kwale County has been closed for a week after alleged attempts by the students to burn down a dormitory.
Kwale County Commissioner Karuku Ngumo told Citizen Digital that police officers who arrived on scene found a jerrycan containing petrol inside one of the dormitories.
The police boss said there were no casualties or loss of property during the incident as the fire was put out early enough.
Ngumo said strong action would be taken against any student found culpable as well as the petrol dealer.
The county commissioner urged parents to warn their children about the dangers and consequences of destroying school property.
The students are set to return to school on Monday next week in the company of their parents.
