Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy dies

Kwale County Senator Boy Juma Boy has died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Boy was flown to Aga Khan from a Mombasa hospital where he was rushed after suffering from a sudden illness.

The late Senator will be buried on Monday 13 February 2017. His remains will be transported to the South Coast later today (Sunday), and the funeral will be at Vanga on the South Coast on Monday afternoon.

Senator Boy has represented Kwale County since the 2013 elections. He was once the youngest Member of Parliament in Kenya, when he succeeded his father, Juma Boy, as MP for Matuga in 1983. He retained his seat in the 1988 and 1992 elections. He also once served as the Kanu Chief Whip.

Senator Boy was known for his jovial mien, friendliness with all, including his competitors from across the political divide, his debating skills, and his unparalleled mastery of the Swahili language.
