KWS on the spot after lion mauls man in Tuala

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is on the spot yet again after a  lion mauled a man on Monday in Tuala.

This comes a day after a lion mauled a casual laborer who had been reported missing on Friday last week.

The employer had launched a search operation for Simon Kipkirui only to find a lion eating his  body on Monday morning.

Efforts to scare the lion away were futile at first, which forced Simon’s employer to use a small explosive but that could not save his remains.

Residents accuse KWS of ignorance claiming that the organisation ignored several calls to deal with the lion.

“When we call the KWS people, they only come here and lie to us that they will get rid of the lion only for it to strike again. This is the same lion which has killed over 30 dogs,” said Philip Kulankash, a resident.

Rangers from KWS are said to have  intensified efforts to track down the killer lion.
