Lady threatens to split Legio Maria sect

A row is simmering within the Legio Maria sect with a section of members accusing a young woman of blocking their access to their pope.

Those complaining say the woman in question now controls all activities by the 94-year-old sect leader and even determines who gets to see the elderly man.

Cardinal Samson Arogo, an ardent follower of the Legio Maria sect together with a few other older sect members, have called for an urgent meeting at the church offices in Calvary, Kisumu County to tackle the issue, an issue they say is so critical it might cause a split within the church.

They claim a young woman, who was not at the meeting, had taken control of Pope Romanus Ong’ombe.

While expressing their displeasure, the cardinals claim that since the young woman came into the pope’s life, the sect leader no longer listens to them.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Cardinal Samson Arogo claims that the young lady has created a buffer zone such that people can no longer access the leader of one of the largest sects in Kenya.

They further claim that the woman has gone ahead to build a modern house with a perimeter wall around it for the elderly pope.

However, when contacted by Citizen Digital, the woman refuted the claims saying all she wanted was to improve the living conditions of the ailing 94-year-old pope.

She further accused the cardinals of being greedy and jealous of the pope’s better housing insisting she had nothing to gain from the sect and all she was doing was a gift to the pope who prayed for her to get well.

Three years ago, the sect experience yet another rift that led to a split into South Nyanza and the Central Nyanza being led by Pope Adika and Pope Ong’ombe respectively.
