Laikipia businessman shot by assailants in Rumuruti area

A middle-aged man is nursing serious gunshot wounds he sustained after he was attacked by unknown assailants in Laikipia’s Rumuruti area while on his way home.

The man, identified as George Wachira Mwai, is recuperating at the Nyahururu County and Referral Hospital after suffering three gunshots.

Wachira was shot twice on his right arm and on the left leg during the 6:30pm incident.

The man, who is the proprietor of the Lobara Ranch in the area, was returning home Thursday evening when his vehicle was shot at several times along the Muruku-Rumuruti road.

He was taken to hospital by police officers who were on patrol and found him on the roadside.

The officers rushed him to Rumuruti Health Centre for first aid before being taken to Nyahururu County and Referral Hospital for further treatment.
