Lamu Governor To Be Arraigned In Court

This follows his arrest on Wednesday evening arrested by police in connection to the recent terror attacks in Mpeketoni, Lamu County.

Issa Timamy was summoned in Lamu while he was at State House Nairobi where he was meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta before his arrest.

The CORD coalition has in the recent past been accused of alleged incitement that is believed to have sparked the violence leaving over 70 people dead in Mpeketoni earlier last week.

The governor was among the local leaders who were coordinating humanitarian assistance to hundreds of displaced families in Mpeketoni after the violence broke.
