Distribution of ballot boxes to begin tonight
The ballot boxes to be used for the Thursday repeat presidential poll will be transported to all 290 constituencies on Tuesday night, a day before polls open.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) communication officer Tabitha Mutemi also says that ballot papers will be ferried to the constituencies on Wednesday morning.
“The ballot boxes for the presidential election will be ferried to all 290 constituencies tonight (Tuesday) and the ballot papers will be distributed tomorrow,” Ms. Mutemi said.
IEBC is also set to receive the last batch of ballot papers from Dubai based printing firm Al-Ghurair on Tuesday evening.
In a tweet, the electoral commission said the plane bringing the last batch of ballot papers carrying 166 pallets for 14 counties is expected to touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) today.

This comes after the electoral commission received the second consignment of 183 pallets of ballot papers for 22 counties on Monday evening from Dubai based printing firm Al-Ghurair.
The commission received the first batch of the presidential ballot papers for 10 counties on Sunday as the distribution of election material across the country enters its final leg.
The repeat presidential election is slated for Thursday October 26.
